KONY 2012

Recently, I came across this video Kony 2012, a film and campaign by Invisible Children that aims to make Joseph Kony famous, not to celebrate him, but to raise support for his arrest and set a precedent for international justice.

Before watching this, I didn’t know who Joseph Kony is, I didn’t know what he is doing. If you don’t know him, watch the video Kony 2012, it definitely worth 30mins of your precious time. Only after 20years, this was made known to the world. This film went viral & now almost everyone knows about him. Celebrities from all over the world are spreading this message too & Many news stations have reported on this incident.

I have been donating money to charities in Singapore like SPCA and Singapore Heart Foundation every month. So I thought, what can I do to help the brothers & sisters in Uganda. Of course, the same way, by spreading the message & donating money. So I bought the Action Kit.

Honestly speaking, I had doubts on how they would handle the donations & etc. There is even an article about it. But I didn’t care, & bought it anyway. Why? Because I know I have done my part in helping. I don’t care how they use them. It will be good for them to use it the right way & if they didn’t, it is them who suffer in the end, not me. It’s all about karma.

Ultimately, I feel good doing my part in helping even a little bit. My little small amount can make a big difference. I’m not asking you to do the same as me, just do whatever you can to make a difference. I want you to understand that, no matter how bad you think your life is, think of the people in Uganda or in any other places, like those people who don’t even know that Singapore exists. We are all lucky people. Know that, appreciate that.
